I’m not sure Danto’s analogy quite holds. I would say when I transfer my beliefs, I evangelize.
I understand the need to be succinct when attempting to write something memorable, but the obvious omission is that one can indoctrinate by being selective in the knowledge transferred–which, of course, might be dictated by one’s beliefs. Which suggests another point–since all knowledge is incomplete, any knowledge that is transferred can result in false beliefs. Unfortunately, an unavoidable risk.
If I were a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle, now I’d say “Kauwbango, dude!”
