  • The Founders thought we’d celebrate Independence Day every July 2 because that’s when Congress actually voted for Independence.  So why is Independence Day on July 4?

 

  • Jefferson was asked to draft the Declaration of Independence not because he was an important member of Congress, but because he was unimportant.
